Episode XXVI The Phantom Game where Bioware strikes back and A New Hope Dies
Its a period of stagnation and repetitive gaming throughout the galaxy. Voices cry out in their thousands for someone to come and satiate their desire for a new MMO that involves great story with adequate PvE and PvP content.
The evil Empire known as EA formulates a cunning plan to generate income via mind tricks, marketing and all our douchebaggery. They succeed but only to find that they have employed ass-hats as developers of their game that they whole heartedly funded. Understanding that this plan to generate long term income from such a large investment was failing at the first hurdle a new section of their plan is etched! FOUNDER MEDALS!
With damage control going over 9000 the evil apprentices to Emperor Olen attempt to stem the tide of unsubs, with mind tricks and promises Darth Reid and Bass attempt the impossible but our heroes don't fall for the ruse and safely get away with their moneys, loots and some form of self respect in tact.
tl;dr VoTF has now left SWTOR.
We do not respect companies that show such lack of knowledge about their own game, their player base and attempt to keep people subscribed through promises of features that should have already been in an MMO launched in 2011/12 especially with the funding that they had.
With so much also happening behind the scenes that will go unsaid it is safe to say that SWTOR is not a game for communities who favour competitive PvP and want to count on their own skill and effort to gain renown.
With the effort put in from VoTF we can leave this game with our heads held high. Below is a small, public example of what VoTF put into SWTOR
1. Beta Feedback - This is a repost of part of our beta feedback that was initially posted on the beta forums.
2. PvP Problems after Launch - Here you can find our summary on problems with PvP after launch.
3. Post PvP Problems after launch - This was the post after "PvP problems after launch" trying to get Bioware to focus on faction imbalance and improve the overall game for everyone.
4. Ilum Patch 1.1 Training Day - Here you see how we predicted the problems that were to be experienced after the 1.1 PvP Patch and attempted to make them public so they could be fixed before 1.1 implementation.
5. A Universe At War - Here you will see a very lengthy document on redesigning Ilum that took over a week to construct and conclude.

Today VoTF has gone dark in protest of the U.S stop online piracy act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (Pipa). The U.S congress is about to censor the internet, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill these bills to protect our rights to free speech, privacy and prosperity.

Since its beginning VoTF's primary goal has always been to promote great community interaction, further friendships and do all of this maintaining performance that is unrivalled. To this end we are now closing recruitment and our focus will intensify on internal performance and community management.
Most of us have been somewhat dismayed at the launch platform, the design of Ilum, the RNG and a plethora of other things but with some small response to the huge outcry by Bioware with patch 1.1 we feel slightly more optimistic that the PvP scene will be taken seriously.
If you think you are VoTF material and are exceptional at PvP then the application form will not be taken down and you will still be able to fill it in but instant declines will be given to those who we deem as non-exceptional (helps if you play with us first).
With things changing and an internal ramp up in preparation for 1.1 we will hopefully have all of our social tools up and running.
More Soon.

Due to the amount of applications coming our way we have now implemented a minimum level of level 45. We have already achieved huge amounts in the game and are now going from strength to strength capitalising on our position.
If you have already put an application in this may still affect you depending upon your chat with us on mumble.
Kind Regards

Due to the influx of applications anyone who has applied or is going to apply can expect a small delay in their application being dealt with. We attribute this influx with the huge impression we have already made on The Ravager server with regards to PvP performance.
If you have any queries please contact myself or Kebab.

VotF - Vengeance Of The Fallen is a very old guild with many links in the gaming world. We are part of a much larger gaming community that focus on competative gameplay and exceeding the normal expectations of guilds. Initially setup in 2002 whilst playing Neverwinter Nights the core group moved onto EvE online where it became a force to be reckoned with. Creating one of the first alliances in the game, Curse Alliance, and being known for giving no quarter. VotF & CA commanded over 2000 players and owned giant swathes of space - For two years we showed EvE what we could do. Respect and fear of us grew in equal measure. After destroying multiple alliances a feel of "winning" spread through the alliance and it was general consensus internally that we should disband. A very sad time for VoTF but we were able to go our own way with selected friends and have more fun without being tied down to space.
With eve becoming more of a casual affair we decided to spread through multiple other games whilst still playing EvE. We have ventured into WoW, WAR, AoC and then Aion came along. Aion presented a new opportunity for us to show what we were capable of. Initially calling back core members and calling out to the community that we had built up over the years we were ready to dominate once again.
After forming up with other guilds, playing the Korean version of Aion and preparing as much as was possible the choice was made to go the less populated race and to join a pre-determined PvP server with multiple other PvP orientated groups. Fierce fighting broke out instantly, rivalries formed and escalated. Having experience of intense situations from EvE this was nothing for VoTF and we sailed through unscathed, having some of the best premade's on the server and enjoying multiple victories in Open world PvP it was time to step it up a notch.
Taking control of siege organisation for the entire Asmodian race many victories were had. Having dominated the Abyss and our pre-mades owning the single battleground "Dredgion" many flaws within the game were laid bare. Mechanics were not being fixed, imbalances were creeping up and the lack of support from NCSoft. The balancing mechanic of the servers was broken and communication was sparse. This eventually lead to the greater community leaving Aion.
With new friends and great adversaries acquired VoTF ventured out to find a new game. RIFT was chosen but sadly the imbalance, boredom and lack of worthwhile open world pvp simply made it impossible for it to be considered a competitive PvP MMO.
Now we and our greater community are on the look out for a new game that combines competitive PvP with a company that has the desire to support every aspect of its player base. To this end VoTF are now venturing to Star Wars: The Old Republic.
We are a community that has been tarnished by multiple games in the past, leading us to realize what games are all about: The community. We are a guild of one mind and one soul, we might have different personalities and sexualities, but we know what it takes to flourish in a game and have fun doing so, and that is obviously the many players around you. We do not aim at outwards goals as kills, gear or ranks. We aim at inward goals as community, dependence and trust. By aiming at these goals we gain the outward goals as a bi-product and furthermore having it based on a much more stable and rigid foundation.
Mmos are no fun without each other, without the community. Plenty of games have showed us that in the past. We have come to realize that this is most likely the new standard of mmos, gameplay that doesn't create an incentive for community nor the need for one. We have had to adapt to this new game style, and we no longer expect a game to create a community, instead we are focused on bringing our community to the game.
The satisfaction from gear and kills is short lasted, the creation of relations, friendship and bonds last forever. So it is not hard choice to make when it comes to focus, at least not for the people that have tried both. We are players that do many different things, acts in different ways, have different points of view, but our goal is the same: Us, the proud gamers of a fallen gaming world, we are here, here for vengeance.
